Scientific Interests and Goals:
My main research interest is to understand the role of microorganisms in the ocean, especially how these organisms influence main processes in the ocean. I am interested in the study of ocean acidification and global warming, in respect to the impact on microorganisms and therefore on important cycles in the whole ocean. To look at all the different marine processes from various points of view is very interesting, and I still need to get to know the different departments more, so far the groups for Deep-Sea Ecology, Microbiology and Symbiosis are the most fascinating ones for me.
