MarMic - International Max Planck Research School of Marine Microbiology

Organization of the Research School

MarMic is headed by a Board consisting of:

MarMic senior faculty members (full professors) from the University of Bremen, the Constructor University Bremen, and the Alfred Wegener Institute, the directors of the MPI for Marine Microbiology, one of whom is the Speaker of MarMic,

the MarMic Coordinators, and

some students from MarMic.

The Board defines the curriculum of MarMic in coordination with participating universities and institutes. The Board is responsible for selecting candidates and ensuring a thesis committee for each student. The Board supervises the exams of school year 1 and decides whether students are accepted to the M.Sc. or Ph.D. program. Thesis advisors and junior faculty of MarMic are invited to participate in decisive meetings of the Board.
The MarMic M.S. program is integrated in the curriculum and exam regulations of the University of Bremen.
